In an emergency
If anyone is in danger, call 000 (police, fire or ambulance) straight away. Don't wait to message us first.
Once everyone is safe, tell us what happened through Support so we can act on the account involved.
About insurance
We want to be clear: TaskCoast does not provide insurance for tasks, taskers or posters. No policy covers damage, injury or loss on a task booked through TaskCoast.
- Taskers who run a business may hold their own public liability insurance. If cover matters for your job, ask for a certificate of currency before you accept an offer.
- Posters can check whether their home and contents insurance covers people working at their property.
- For licensed work (electrical, plumbing, gas), only hire someone with the right licence. Look for the Trade licence badge and check the number with your state register.
How we help keep you safe
- Payments held in escrow. When you accept an offer, the money moves from your wallet into escrow. The tasker is paid only when you release it.
- Badges reviewed by people. Our team checks ID, police checks, working with children checks and licences before a badge appears. Hover a badge to see when it was verified.
- Real reviews. Reviews can only be left after a task on TaskCoast, by the two people involved.
- Private details stay private. Emails, phone numbers and wallet balances are never shown on public pages. Exact addresses are shared only after a task is assigned.
- Reports and blocks. Report any member, task or message, and block someone so they can't contact you.
Tips for posters
- Read profiles, reviews and badges before you accept an offer.
- Keep chat on TaskCoast until you're comfortable. It keeps a record if anything goes wrong.
- For online work, share only the access the task needs, like a test account, a staging link or a shared folder. Never send your own passwords, and remove access when the work is done.
- Never pay outside TaskCoast. Off platform payments aren't protected and break our rules.
- For local jobs, share the exact address only with the person you assign, and be home or have someone you trust there where possible.
- Describe hazards honestly: pets, steep stairs, heavy items or anything unusual.
Tips for taskers
- Check the task details and ask questions before you send an offer.
- For online tasks, use your own accounts, never install anything you don't trust, and never share your sign in codes or payout details.
- For local jobs, let a friend know where you're going and when you expect to finish. If something feels wrong when you arrive, you can leave and contact us.
- Don't take on work you aren't qualified or licensed for.
- Never buy gift cards, crypto or anything else for a poster with your own money. That's a common scam.
- Keep receipts for anything you're reimbursed for.
Spotting scams
Be careful if someone:
- asks you to pay, or to be paid, outside TaskCoast
- sends a link to "confirm your payment" on another website
- asks for your password, a verification code or your payout details
- offers far more than the job is worth, or asks you to buy gift cards
- pushes you to move to another messaging app straight away
Reporting a problem
Use the Report button on a profile, task or message. Reports are private and reviewed by our team, usually within a day.
If a task went wrong and you can't sort it out together, use Get help with this task on the task page. We review both sides before any money in escrow moves.
For anything else, open a ticket in Support.
Something not right?
Report it or ask our team. We read every message.
