Know your wall
Plasterboard needs studs or heavy duty anchors. Brick and concrete need masonry bits and the right plugs. Tell your handyman which you have.
Choose the right bracket
Check your TV's VESA size and weight, then pick a bracket rated above it. Tilting and full motion brackets put more load on the wall.
Plan the cables
Decide whether you want cables hidden in the wall, in a cover or left loose. Hidden cables take longer and power points in walls need a licensed electrician.
Pick the height
The middle of the screen is usually best at eye level when you're seated.
Questions to ask
- Have you mounted this size of TV on this kind of wall before?
- Do you bring a stud finder and level?
- Will you test the bracket before hanging the TV?
